Stainless Steel Waterproof 280 kg (600 lb) Magnetic Lock: overview
EL-120 packs 280 kg (600 lb) ±10% of holding force into a stainless-steel body only 210 mm long, which helps where header length is limited or a 250 mm lock looks oversized. The waterproof construction and double-insulated lock body make it suitable for exterior doors, while the door-status output tells the controller whether the door is closed and secured.
Inside, an anti-residual-magnetism design with wear-resistant materials lets the armature release promptly, and the lock has no moving parts. A built-in MOV absorbs the reverse-voltage spike each time the coil de-energizes, which is kinder to the relay contacts in the controller or keypad driving it.
The installer sets the coil for 12 V DC ±10% (460 mA ±5%) or 24 V DC ±10% (230 mA ±5%). Operation is fail-safe: the door releases as soon as power is removed, so the lock can sit on a fire-alarm release loop. There is no built-in delay, so door-open time comes from the access controller.

Lock body 210 × 42 × 28.5 mm; armature plate 185 × 38 × 12 mm. It is listed for wooden, glass, metal and fire doors. Because the body and plate differ from our 250 mm locks, send us your door details if you need a bracket and we will confirm a match. Listed certifications are CE and RoHS.

EL-120 FAQ
How does EL-120 differ from EL-110?
Both hold 280 kg (600 lb), are waterproof and have a door-status output. EL-120 uses a shorter 210 × 42 × 28.5 mm stainless-steel body and draws 460 mA at 12 V; EL-110 has a 250 mm aluminum-alloy body, draws 480 mA and also lists UL and FCC.
What current does it draw?
460 mA ±5% at 12 V DC or 230 mA ±5% at 24 V DC. Running at 24 V halves the current, which reduces voltage drop on long cable runs.
Is it suitable for glass doors?
Glass doors are listed alongside wooden, metal and fire doors. On frameless glass the 185 mm armature needs a clamp bracket, so send us the glass thickness and door layout and we will confirm one that fits.
Does it have a built-in time delay?
No. It releases the moment power is removed and relocks when power returns, so set the door-open time in the access controller or keypad.
