280 kg (600 lb) Magnetic Lock with Status Output, 12/24 V: overview
EL-190 is our standard single-door magnetic lock for integrators who want feedback from the lock itself. It holds 280 kg (600 lb) in straight pull and provides a status signal with normally-open and normally-closed contacts, so the controller or alarm panel can log when the door is secured and flag it when it is not.
The 250 × 47 × 26 mm body is high-strength aluminum alloy closed with hex-socket (Allen) screws for tamper resistance, and the 180 × 38 × 11 mm armature plate mounts on the door leaf. It draws 480 mA at 12 V DC or 240 mA at 24 V DC. The lock is fail-safe, releasing on loss of power, and has no internal delay, so door-open time is set in the controller.
It is listed for wooden, glass, metal and fire doors and weighs 2 kg. For the same lock without the signal output, see EL-200; for doors and gates exposed to rain, the waterproof EL-110 has the same 250 mm body length.
Integration notes
Mount the body under the header on the side the door closes toward, and fix the armature so it meets the lock face squarely. Doors that open toward the lock side need the EL-140 ZL bracket, narrow headers the EL-160 L bracket and frameless glass leaves the EL-150 U bracket. Switch the coil through the controller's lock relay and wire the NO or NC status contact to a door or auxiliary input. Size the supply at 480 mA plus the other door devices, with 25–50% headroom.

EL-190 FAQ
How does EL-190 differ from EL-200?
They share the same 250 × 47 × 26 mm body, 280 kg (600 lb) holding force and 480/240 mA current. EL-190 adds a status signal output with NO and NC contacts; EL-200 has none.
What power supply do I need?
The lock draws 480 mA at 12 V DC or 240 mA at 24 V DC. Add the reader, controller and exit button, then 25–50% headroom; a 12 V 3 A supply such as PW-120 suits a typical single door.
Which bracket do I need?
None if the door closes toward the lock side on a wide enough header. Use the EL-140 ZL bracket when the door opens toward the lock, the EL-160 L bracket for narrow headers and the EL-150 U bracket for frameless glass 8–15 mm thick.
Can I use it outdoors?
No weather rating is stated for EL-190. For gates and exterior doors exposed to rain, use the waterproof EL-110, which has the same 250 mm body length.
