Double Door Magnetic Lock 2 × 280 kg (2 × 600 lb), 12/24 V: overview
EL-180 is a double-door electromagnetic lock for pairs of doors that only need to be held and released, without status feedback. One 500 × 47 × 26 mm body carries two 280 kg (600 lb) magnets, and each leaf takes its own 180 × 38 × 11 mm armature plate. Buyers searching for a 1,200 lb double maglock are usually looking at this layout: the rating is 600 lb per leaf.
The aluminum-alloy housing is closed with hex-socket (Allen) screws for tamper resistance. The lock runs from 12 V DC, drawing 480 mA per magnet (960 mA in total), or from 24 V DC at 240 mA per magnet (480 mA in total). It is fail-safe, so both leaves open as soon as power is removed, and it has no internal delay.
Choose EL-180 for double doors in lobbies, corridors, stairwells and shared entrances where door monitoring is handled by separate door contacts or is not required. If the controller should know whether the doors are secured, the otherwise identical EL-170 adds an NO/NC status output.
Integration notes
Budget roughly 1 A at 12 V for the lock alone, then add readers, controller and exit buttons plus 25–50% headroom when choosing the supply. The lock weighs 4 kg; fix it into solid header material across the meeting stiles. On frameless glass leaves, mount each armature on an EL-150 U bracket.

EL-180 FAQ
Does EL-180 have a door or lock status output?
No. EL-180 has no signal output. If you need status feedback, order EL-170, which is the same lock with NO/NC status contacts.
How much power does it draw?
960 mA in total at 12 V DC (480 mA per magnet) or 480 mA in total at 24 V DC. Size the supply for the lock plus readers and controller, with 25–50% headroom.
Is it really 1,200 lb?
The two magnets together total 560 kg (1,200 lb), but each leaf is held at 280 kg (600 lb). Specify on the per-leaf figure when comparing with single-door locks.
Is there a built-in time delay?
No. The lock releases immediately when power is removed; set relock timing in the controller or exit button circuit.
