Mullion Card Reader, Wiegand, 125 kHz or 13.56 MHz: overview
The CR-170 is a card-only mullion reader, 153 × 45 × 16.3 mm, for narrow door frames, glass partitions and turnstile posts where a square reader will not fit. It outputs Wiegand to any standard access controller and comes in four credential tiers.
Choose CR-170-E for 125 kHz EM4100, EM4102 and EM4200-compatible cards and fobs, or CR-170-M for the UIDs of 13.56 MHz MIFARE Classic, DESFire, Plus, Ultralight, NTAG2xx and CPU cards. CR-170-MS reads protected MIFARE Classic 1K/4K sectors and CPU card files and adds ISO/IEC 15693 UIDs, the iCLASS CSN and Wiegand 66. CR-170-MS-FC also reads FeliCa UIDs.
A configuration card changes the Wiegand format, read mode, card key and card-number format in the field. Card data reaches the controller within 120 ms, and the inputs carry ESD and miswiring protection. For card plus PIN on the same frame width, see the CR-160 keypad version.
Integration notes
Power: 12 V DC (±5%), budget 200 mA. Leads: red +12 V, black GND, white D1, green D0, purple buzzer control, gray LED control; tie yellow to GND to fix the output at Wiegand 26. No ingress rating is published, so fit it indoors or on a sheltered frame.

What size is the CR-170?
153 × 45 × 16.3 mm (±0.5 mm), so it fits on most narrow door frames and stiles.
Which version reads 125 kHz key fobs?
CR-170-E. It reads EM4100, EM4102 and EM4200-compatible thick cards, thin cards and key fobs with Wiegand 26/34 output.
How do I force Wiegand 26 output?
Tie the yellow lead to GND. Other formats, including Wiegand 34 and, on -MS versions, Wiegand 66, are set with the configuration card.
Is there a keypad version?
Yes. The CR-160 has the same mullion footprint with a touch keypad and doorbell key.
