Through-hole UHF RFID button ear tag, Ø30 × 13.2 mm, nylon skeleton in a TPU shell; the Alien Higgs-9 chip reads at 6–7 m on a fixed reader and 0.5 m on a handheld.
The LV-120 is the through-hole version of our 30 mm UHF RFID pig ear tag. It shares the chip, materials and read performance of the closed-hole LV-110, but the button has an open socket and a lower 13.2 mm profile (Ø30 × 13.2 mm overall).
For farm managers the value is hands-off identification. With 6–7 m of range on a 4 W fixed reader, a UHF antenna over a race, gateway or feeder can register animals as a group, while a handheld reads individual tags at about 0.5 m during pen checks. The Alien Higgs-9 chip gives every tag a unique ID to anchor each animal's breed, source farm, production data, vaccination and health history.
Construction pairs an inner skeleton of modified nylon for strength with an outer TPU (polyurethane) shell. The tag is aimed at pigs, and the same format suits other livestock where a 30 mm button fits the ear.
Operating band is 902–928 MHz. UHF is not the 134.2 kHz FDX-B technology used for official animal ID in many countries, so check your national registration rules and run the LV-120 as a management tag where LF tags are mandatory. Choose between through-hole and closed-hole by the style your applicator and farm practice use, and trial a sample batch first.

| LV-120-US | UHF RFID pig ear tag, through hole, Ø30 × 13.2 mm, nylon + TPU, Alien Higgs-9, 902–928 MHz |
UHF RFID livestock tags for group reads at races, gates and scales: ear tags, fixed readers, outdoor antennas and handhelds that work alongside 134.2 kHz ID.
Only the hole style and height differ. The LV-120 has an open through-hole socket and is Ø30 × 13.2 mm; the closed-hole LV-110 is Ø30 × 14.6 mm. Chip, band, materials and range are the same.
Not where rules call for 134.2 kHz ISO 11784/11785 tags. This is a 902–928 MHz UHF tag intended for management and group reading alongside any mandatory LF tag.
The datasheet gives 6–7 m with a 4 W fixed reader and about 0.5 m with a handheld. Animal bodies absorb UHF energy, so trial antenna placement with a sample batch.
No EU-band version is listed; the tag is specified for 902–928 MHz. Test it with your reader before deploying in an ETSI-band region.

Wire a UHF reader's D0, D1 and ground to your controller, match 26/34-bit Wiegand, size 12 V power and trigger the barrier by relay. Diagrams included.
Yes, RFID works on metal with tags built for it. See why metal detunes standard tags, compare ABS, PCB, ceramic and label tags, and test read range properly.
