Bar-shaped ABS on-metal UHF tag, 135 × 22 × 12 mm, with an Impinj Monza 4QT chip. Covers 860–960 MHz; 8 m on metal with a 4 W fixed reader.
OM-150 is a rigid, bar-shaped UHF tag in an ABS housing, made for fixing directly to steel: racking uprights, cages, machinery frames, returnable metal containers and equipment carts. The 135 × 22 × 12 mm body has a hole at each end, so it can be screwed or riveted in place where adhesive alone is not trusted.
Datasheet range is 8 m on a metal surface with a 4 W fixed reader and 3 m with an Impinj R2000-based handheld. The tag covers 860–960 MHz, so one part serves both 902–928 MHz (US) and 865–868 MHz (EU) readers. That helps on projects where tagged assets move between regions. The chip is an Impinj Monza 4QT.
Within our ABS range, OM-150 is the long, narrow option. For a shorter body with a higher quoted range, see OM-170 (69 × 23 × 7 mm, 13 m on metal); for a wider, flatter footprint, see OM-160 (79 × 31 mm).
Mount the flat base against the metal and fix it through both end holes. Hole diameter and adhesive options are not listed on the datasheet, so check fastener fit on samples. Confirm read distance with your own reader, antenna and power setting, since the 8 m figure was taken at 4 W.

Plan RFID for warehouse management: fixed readers and circular antennas at dock doors, conveyor tunnels, handheld cycle counts and on-metal asset tags.
Build an RFID asset tracking system: on-metal, ceramic and tie-on tags matched to each asset, handheld audits, smart cabinets and IP67 HF heads for tooling.
The datasheet specifies 860–960 MHz, which spans both the 902–928 MHz and 865–868 MHz bands. The quoted 8 m range does not name a band, so check distance with your own reader.
The ABS body has a hole at each end for screws or rivets. Hole size and adhesive options are not listed on the datasheet, so confirm fit with samples.
8 m with a 4 W fixed reader and the tag on metal, and 3 m with an Impinj R2000-based handheld.
OM-170 is about half the length (69 × 23 × 7 mm) and quotes 13 m on metal, but it is listed for 902–928 and 866–868 MHz rather than the full 860–960 MHz.
Compare UHF RFID reader bands by country, including US, EU, UK, China, India and Japan. Understand ERP, EIRP, channel conditions and radio approvals.
Wire a UHF reader's D0, D1 and ground to your controller, match 26/34-bit Wiegand, size 12 V power and trigger the barrier by relay. Diagrams included.
Yes, RFID works on metal with tags built for it. See why metal detunes standard tags, compare ABS, PCB, ceramic and label tags, and test read range properly.
