Dual-frequency 125 kHz + 13.56 MHz reader with tamper alarm and IP65 housing; reads encrypted CPU card content and outputs Wiegand or RS485.
TP-120 is a tamper-proof card reader for entrances where someone might pry a reader off the wall or try to copy a card. It reads both 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz credentials, raises a tamper alarm if it is removed, and has an IP65-rated housing for sheltered outdoor doors. The 86 × 86 × 15.6 mm body matches the footprint of an 86-type wall box.
On 13.56 MHz it handles MIFARE Classic, MIFARE DESFire EV1/EV2, MIFARE Ultralight and Ultralight C, NTAG2xx and NFC Forum Type 1, 2 and 4 tags under ISO/IEC 14443A/B and ISO/IEC 18092. It can also read the encrypted content of CPU (microprocessor) smart cards, a far harder credential to duplicate than a card serial number. On 125 kHz it reads EM4100, EM4102, EM4200, EM4305 and EM4450 cards, so existing proximity cards keep working while a site changes over. Read range is 0–3 cm.
A version with a touch keypad is available for doors that need card plus PIN.
Output is Wiegand or RS485. The supply range is 9–15 V DC; at 12 V the reader draws about 100 mA on standby and about 150 mA while reading. A management utility updates firmware and configuration parameters over RS485, so settings can change after installation without swapping hardware.

Apartment building access control hardware: anti-clone readers with matched fob sets, QR visitor codes, 4G controllers for rentals and UHF tags for gates.
Elevator card readers for car panels and lift lobbies: anti-clone encrypted cards, QR codes for visitors, Wiegand or RS485 output to the floor controller.
Turnstile card readers, QR scanners and face terminals for tripod, swing and speed gates, with Wiegand, RS485, RS232 or TTL output to the gate board.
Yes. TP-120 reads 125 kHz EM-family cards and 13.56 MHz cards, so both card types can be presented at the same reader during a phased changeover.
A 9–15 V DC supply plus either the Wiegand data lines or an RS485 pair to the controller. At 12 V, budget about 150 mA per reader while reading.
The housing is rated IP65 and operates from –20 to +65 °C at 20–80% non-condensing humidity, which suits sheltered outdoor entrances.
Yes. The management utility updates firmware and parameters over the RS485 line.
No certification is listed for this model. If your project requires CE, FCC or another mark, tell us before ordering and we will confirm what documentation is available.
Compare Wiegand, OSDP and RS485 reader interfaces: wiring, cable limits, AES-128 Secure Channel and steps for a compatible access-control migration.
125 kHz cards are cheap but easy to clone; 13.56 MHz cards add memory and, on DESFire-class chips, AES security. Compare range, chips, security and migration.
