Dual-frequency card reader with supplier-reported Ex ia gas/dust markings, Wiegand 34/66 or RS485 and potted metal housing. ATEX/IECEx certification remains unverified.
TP-110 is a dual-frequency card reader whose supplier documentation reports intrinsic-safety marking Ex ia IIC T6 Ga for gas and Ex ia IIIC T200 85 °C Da for dust. No verified ATEX or IECEx certificate, certified system drawing or entity-parameter set is available in our current records. Treat it as a document-review candidate: the markings alone do not substantiate installation in a particular hazardous zone or the supplier's claim that no external safety barrier is needed.
The listed credential support covers 125 kHz EM4100/TK4100-compatible cards and 13.56 MHz ISO/IEC 14443A/B cards, including MIFARE Classic 1K/4K, MIFARE DESFire and CPU smart cards. Published read range is up to 5 cm. Outputs are Wiegand 34/66 or RS485; match the controller's supported format and protocol before a functional bench test. Card-family support does not by itself establish protected-data authentication or the enrolled number format.
A potted metal housing measures 120 × 80 × 22.67 mm, with tamper detection and card-only or physical-keypad versions. The supplier lists operating temperature of –10 to +60 °C; this is a general product specification, not a verified certified Ex ambient range. No numeric ingress rating is published here.
Supply is 9–15 V DC, with reading current ≤ 0.2 A and a 374 mm (±10 mm) cable tail. Configuration-card setup and a card-issuing tool are listed; confirm their operation with the intended credentials and host software. Any classified-area installation requires acceptable conformity evidence, instructions and review of the complete connected circuit, including power, data, accessories and cables. Bench samples can assess credentials and communication in an unclassified area; they do not establish hazardous-area approval.

Plan access control around the site's classified boundaries. Verify Ex equipment and circuit documents, select safe-area hardware and review missing evidence.
No verified ATEX or IECEx certificate is available in our current records. The supplier reports Ex ia gas and dust markings, but these do not substantiate a specific zone installation or an accepted conformity route.
The supplier claims no external barrier is needed, but we cannot verify that claim from the current documents. Do not add or omit associated apparatus by assumption; the accepted equipment documents and complete circuit assessment must establish the arrangement.
The supplier lists 125 kHz EM4100/TK4100-compatible cards and 13.56 MHz ISO/IEC 14443A/B cards, including MIFARE Classic 1K/4K, MIFARE DESFire and CPU smart cards, at up to 5 cm. Confirm the required data and read mode with sample credentials.
Wiegand 34 or 66-bit and RS485 are listed, with output parameters configured by a card. Match the controller format and protocol. Functional communication does not establish approval of a hazardous-area circuit.
The general specification lists –10 to +60 °C operating temperature, –20 to +80 °C storage and 20–80% relative humidity, with a potted metal housing. A certified Ex ambient range, dust-temperature conditions and installation suitability remain unverified.
Compare Wiegand, OSDP and RS485 reader interfaces: wiring, cable limits, AES-128 Secure Channel and steps for a compatible access-control migration.
125 kHz cards are cheap but easy to clone; 13.56 MHz cards add memory and, on DESFire-class chips, AES security. Compare range, chips, security and migration.
