Glass Touch Keypad Card Reader, Dual-Frequency, Wiegand: overview
The CR-290 is the keypad version of our glass-and-metal reader: a black glass face with a 12-key touch pad, a gradient running-light bar and a black or champagne-gold metal frame. It measures 90 × 90 × 20.8 mm and ships without a logo, which suits hotels, serviced apartments and offices where the door hardware has to match the interior.
Every CR-290 is dual-frequency. It reads 125 kHz EM-type cards and the UIDs of 13.56 MHz ISO/IEC 14443A/B credentials, including MIFARE cards, DESFire and CPU cards, at 0–5 cm. Card numbers and keypad entries leave on the Wiegand lines, 34-bit as standard or 26-bit when selected, so the reader fits controllers that expect either format.
Configuration cards change the output parameters on site without software. The reader takes 12 V DC at up to 200 mA, operates from –20 to +60 °C and is designed to resist metal shielding, so metal surrounds are not a problem.
Integration notes
The 220 mm (8.7 in) pigtail uses red for +12 V, black for GND, green for D0 and white for D1, with purple for buzzer control and gray for LED control. Grounding yellow switches the output to Wiegand 26. Give us your panel model when ordering so we can check the keypad output setting, and treat the unit as an indoor reader because no ingress rating is published.

CR-290 FAQ
Is there a 13.56 MHz-only CR-290?
No. The keypad version is supplied only as a dual-frequency reader. For a card-only unit in the same housing, the CR-280 comes in 13.56 MHz and dual-frequency builds.
Which Wiegand formats does it output?
Wiegand 34 as standard. Connect the yellow lead to GND to switch to Wiegand 26 for panels that accept only the 26-bit format.
Which frame colors are available?
Black (CR-290-D-BK) or champagne gold (CR-290-D-GD), both with a black glass panel and no logo.
What cards does it read?
125 kHz EM-type cards and fobs, plus the UIDs of 13.56 MHz ISO/IEC 14443A/B cards such as MIFARE, DESFire and CPU cards, at up to 5 cm.
