Zip-tie style UHF RFID tag in PP with a 53.5 × 30 × 1.9 mm head and 330 mm overall length, for tying IDs onto bundles, bags and cables; reads at 0.7 m fixed, 0.2 m handheld.
The ST-140 is a UHF RFID cable tie tag: a PP zip tie with a flat 53.5 × 30 × 1.9 mm tag head, 330 mm long overall. It attaches an ID to anything that can be looped, such as cable bundles, hose and pipe runs, sacks, parcels, garment bundles, sample bags and plant stems, where an adhesive label would peel or has nothing flat to stick to.
Inside the head is an Impinj Monza 4QT chip covering 860–960 MHz. Read range is short: 0.7 m with a 4 W fixed reader and 0.2 m with a handheld. That makes the tag a good fit for traceability steps where items are scanned one by one at a workstation, packing table or checkpoint, and a poor fit for reading at a distance.
Each tag carries a globally unique chip ID, and UHF anti-collision lets a reader handle several tags at once when they are within range. Record the ID when the tie goes on, then scan it at each step to build a chain of custody for the bundle or package.
The strap fastens like a standard plastic zip tie, and like one it is normally cut to remove. It is a traceability tag rather than a security seal, so pair it with a one-time steel-wire seal such as the ST-110 where tamper evidence matters.

Plan RFID for warehouse management: fixed readers and circular antennas at dock doors, conveyor tunnels, handheld cycle counts and on-metal asset tags.
Build an RFID asset tracking system: on-metal, ceramic and tie-on tags matched to each asset, handheld audits, smart cabinets and IP67 HF heads for tooling.
The datasheet lists 0.7 m with a 4 W fixed reader and 0.2 m with a handheld, so plan for scanning at a station or with the handheld held close to the tag.
No. It is a traceability tie. For visible tamper evidence on doors, hasps and valves, use a one-time steel-wire seal such as the ST-110 or ST-120.
Treat it as single-use. Like any tightened zip tie, removing it normally means cutting the strap.
Any EPC Gen2 reader operating within 860–960 MHz, covering both the 902–928 MHz and 865–868 MHz bands.

Yes, RFID works on metal with tags built for it. See why metal detunes standard tags, compare ABS, PCB, ceramic and label tags, and test read range properly.
Single-use UHF RFID cable seal with a steel-ball lock and a 280 mm × 1.8 mm steel wire; reads at 5 m on a fixed reader for containers, tankers and trailer doors.
Small single-use UHF cable seal with a 36 × 23 × 11 mm ABS head and 280 mm steel wire, read at close range (0.3 m fixed, 0.1 m handheld) for one-at-a-time checks.
PP archive lock tag with a 44 × 32 × 3 mm tag body and 83.31 mm overall length that clasps onto folders, boxes and document bags; reads at 1.5 m fixed, 0.5 m handheld.
