86 mm QR Code + RFID Access Controller, Wiegand 34 + RS485: overview

The QT-140 uses the 86 × 86 mm square footprint of a common single-gang wall box, with a 50 mm-deep rear body that holds the electronics and terminal block. It scans dynamic QR codes and reads 13.56 MHz cards, then either releases the door through its onboard relay or passes the credential to a panel as Wiegand 34. That makes it a tidy retrofit where a wall box or reader position already exists.

Inside is a 648 × 488 scan engine with a 34° × 26° field of view and dual fill lights. Phone-screen and printed codes decode in roughly 100 ms from 5 to 18 cm away, whether the code is turned or tilted by as much as ±45°, and Data Matrix, PDF417, UPC and common 1D barcodes are handled alongside QR. For cards, the 13.56 MHz reader returns UIDs from ISO/IEC 14443A types (MIFARE Classic 1K/4K, NTAG, Ultralight, DESFire EV1, CPU) and ISO/IEC 15693 cards, and phones using NFC card emulation are accepted too. The glass face carries no keypad, which keeps it simple to clean in public areas.

Integration notes

Wiring lands on a screw terminal block at the back of the rear body: power (DC +12V, GND), the RS485 pair, the Wiegand pair (34-bit as shipped), the relay's NO, COM and NC contacts, and a Config terminal for setup. Allow up to 200 mA from a 12 V DC supply, or up to 500 mA at 5 V if the unit runs from its USB lead. With a –10 to +50 °C rating and no published IP rating, treat it as an indoor or covered-entrance device. Visitor QR codes are issued by the app or platform you pair it with, so confirm availability for your region.

QT-140 FAQ

How does it differ from the QT-130?

Both share the same scan engine, card reader and terminal set. The QT-140 is 86 × 86 × 50 mm to suit 86-type wall boxes; the QT-130 is 87 × 87 × 45 mm with a flat square frame.

Will it fit my wall box?

The faceplate is 86 × 86 mm and the rear body is 50 mm deep. Check that your box is an 86-type single-gang box with enough depth for the body and cables.

Can it feed an existing access panel?

Yes. It outputs Wiegand 34 by default on WG0/WG1, and RS485 is also available on 485A/485B.

Which cards and codes are supported?

Common barcodes and QR codes from phone screens or paper, plus 13.56 MHz card UIDs (ISO/IEC 14443A and ISO/IEC 15693). 125 kHz proximity cards are not supported.
