220 × 220 × 40 mm EPC Gen2 UHF reader with a 5 m read range for parking and gate lanes, Wiegand, USB and RS485 output, and an optional RJ45 TCP/IP version.
The LR-170 is a mid-range UHF RFID reader sized between our compact 3 m unit and the large long-range panels. Its 220 × 220 × 40 mm housing reads EPC Gen2 (ISO 18000-6C) cards and tags at up to 5 m, a practical zone for parking entry columns, staff car parks and gates where vehicles slow down but should not have to stop.
All versions output Wiegand, USB and RS485, so the reader can feed a Wiegand access controller, a parking controller on an RS485 bus or a PC. The -NET variants add a TCP/IP port on an RJ45 connection for readers that report straight to software on the LAN. EU 865–868 MHz and US 902–928 MHz versions are available, and the white housing carries no brand marking.
The reader is rated IP65, operates from –20 to +60 °C and is supplied with a 1.5 m pigtail. It runs from a 9–15 V DC supply.
Standby current is below 400 mA and the datasheet specifies read current below 3 A, so choose a supply with headroom for the peak. Aim the reader at the approach so that the windshield tag passes through the 5 m zone, and test with your own tags before settling on a bracket position. For lanes that need 10 m or more, look at the LR-130 or LR-140.

Apartment building access control hardware: anti-clone readers with matched fob sets, QR visitor codes, 4G controllers for rentals and UHF tags for gates.
Both share the same interfaces, supply range and IP65 rating. The LR-170 has a larger 220 mm housing and reads at up to 5 m, against 3 m for the 128 mm LR-160.
EPC Gen2 (ISO 18000-6C) UHF cards and tags in the band of the version you order: 865–868 MHz for EU or 902–928 MHz for US.
Yes, the -NET variants add a TCP/IP port on an RJ45 connection. The standard versions use Wiegand, USB or RS485.
A 9–15 V DC supply. Standby current is under 400 mA and the datasheet lists read current under 3 A, so rate the supply for the peak.
