Compact 128 × 128 × 40 mm UHF reader with a 3 m read range, metal rear shell and IP65 rating, outputting Wiegand, USB and RS485, with an optional TCP/IP version.
The LR-160 is a small-format UHF RFID reader for installations where a large panel would look out of place, or where tags only need to be read at up to 3 m. Its 128 × 128 × 40 mm body pairs a white front cover with a metal rear shell, and the IP65 rating allows use at outdoor gates, parking columns and pedestrian lanes.
Output options suit both access-control and PC-based systems. Every version provides Wiegand, USB and RS485, and the -NET variants add TCP/IP for readers that report directly to software over the LAN. EU 865–868 MHz and US 902–928 MHz versions are available, and the housing carries no brand marking, which helps integrators who deliver under their own name.
The reader comes with a 1.5 m pigtail and runs from 9–15 V DC. Standby current is under 400 mA; the datasheet gives a read current of under 3 A, so size the supply for that ceiling rather than the standby figure.
Mount the reader so that tags pass through the zone directly in front of the panel, for example beside a barrier arm or on a lane post, and keep metal objects clear of the front face. The unit operates from –20 to +60 °C at 20–80% relative humidity and can be stored at –20 to +80 °C. A short 3 m zone also means vehicles waiting further back in the queue are less likely to be read by mistake.

Turnstile card readers, QR scanners and face terminals for tripod, swing and speed gates, with Wiegand, RS485, RS232 or TTL output to the gate board.
When each vehicle or person should be read only at the point of entry. A short zone cuts unwanted reads from queued vehicles or neighboring lanes, and the small housing fits posts and kiosks.
Yes. All four versions provide Wiegand, USB and RS485; the -NET versions add TCP/IP.
Standby current is under 400 mA, and the datasheet lists read current under 3 A, so use a 9–15 V DC supply that can deliver that peak.
Use UHF cards or tags tuned for the band you order: 865–868 MHz for the EU version, 902–928 MHz for the US version. Send us your tag type, or order sample tags with the reader, and we will confirm read distance before shipment.

Wire a UHF reader's D0, D1 and ground to your controller, match 26/34-bit Wiegand, size 12 V power and trigger the barrier by relay. Diagrams included.
Yes, RFID works on metal with tags built for it. See why metal detunes standard tags, compare ABS, PCB, ceramic and label tags, and test read range properly.
