Compact 125 kHz EM4100 Reader Module, TTL or Wiegand 26: overview

The LF-130 fits a 125 kHz EM4100 reader onto a 32.5 × 17.5 mm board for products where a 40 mm square module will not fit: electronic cabinet locks, handheld terminals, slim wall readers and door-entry keypads. The coil antenna is external, so it can sit directly behind the front panel while the board goes wherever there is space.

It reads EM4100, TK4100 and compatible cards and fobs at more than 50 mm and comes in two output versions. The TTL version sends the card number as serial data at a command-set speed of 9600–115200 bit/s (default 115200), either once per card or repeatedly while the card remains in the field. The Wiegand 26 version sends one frame per read, ready for a standard access-controller input.

Simple lock and keypad designs can take presence detection and user feedback straight from the header: one line reports whether a card is in the field, and another goes high for 200 ms on each read to signal a buzzer and LED.

Integration notes

Pin numbering and signal functions match the 40 × 40 mm LF-120, so the host-side signal plan is the same for both sizes. Connections use 2.54 mm pitch pins; the coil attaches to ANT1/ANT2 or to an optional 2.0 mm horizontal socket. Supply is 5 V DC (±5%) with current under 100 mA, and the operating range is –10 to +70 °C.

More features

  • Same pin numbering and signal functions as the 40 × 40 mm LF-120 module
  • 5 V DC (±5%), under 100 mA; –10 to +70 °C operation

  • Shrinking an LF-120-based design into a smaller housing while keeping the same pin functions

LF-130 FAQ

How does the LF-130 differ from the LF-120?

Both use the same pin assignment and electrical ratings. The LF-130 measures 32.5 × 17.5 mm and comes with TTL or Wiegand 26 output, while the 40 × 40 mm LF-120 adds an RS232 version.

Does the Wiegand version repeat the card number?

No. The Wiegand 26 version sends one frame per card read. Continuous output (A0 at logic 0) is only available on the TTL version.

What supply does it need?

5 V DC within ±5%, with operating current below 100 mA.

Can I use a different coil shape?

The coil connects to ANT1/ANT2 on the header or to an optional 2.0 mm horizontal socket. If your housing needs a different coil size, send the dimensions with your RFQ and we will confirm an option.
