LEGIC 13.56 MHz Reader/Writer Module, TTL UART: overview
The XM-110 is a 13.56 MHz reader/writer module for OEMs adding LEGIC card handling to their own hardware: smart locks, handheld and tablet terminals, access readers, and parcel or logistics devices. It is built around the LEGIC SM-4200 reader chip (details on request) and performs both read and write operations on LEGIC credentials. For other card types it returns the unique identifier — the UID of FeliCa, MIFARE and ICODE cards and the card serial number (CSN) of iCLASS cards — so a mixed badge estate can still be identified by one module.
Protocol support covers ISO/IEC 14443A, ISO/IEC 14443B and ISO/IEC 15693. The host can set and query the module address, baud rate and serial number by command, which is useful when provisioning devices or tracing them in the field. Read distance is more than 20 mm, depending on the credential and the installation.
Integration notes
The module runs from 5 V DC (±5%) and draws less than 200 mA. It talks TTL serial at 9600–115200 bps, set by command and defaulting to 115200 bps. Connections are spread over three headers: J2 carries RESET, receive (CRX), transmit (CTX), GND and VCC; J1 provides an LED pin; and J3 offers GND plus an additional TX line. The board measures 38 × 18 × 10.5 mm. It operates from –10 to +70 °C at 15–90% humidity and can be stored from –20 to +80 °C. No certifications are listed, so compliance is assessed on the finished product.

Can it write to LEGIC cards or only read them?
It reads and writes LEGIC credentials. For FeliCa, MIFARE, ICODE and iCLASS cards it returns the UID or card serial number only.
Which reader chip does it use?
The module is built around the LEGIC SM-4200 reader chip. Further chip and firmware details are available on request.
What serial settings does it use?
TTL serial at 9600–115200 bps, set by command; the default is 115200 bps. The module address and serial number can also be set and read.
What read distance should I expect?
More than 20 mm. Actual distance depends on the credential type and the installation environment.
Does the module carry CE or FCC approval?
