IP67 13.56 MHz reader/writer for production lines: reads ISO 15693 tags at up to 110 mm and connects to PLCs via Modbus TCP over Ethernet or Modbus RTU over RS232/RS485.
The IH-110 is an industrial HF RFID reader/writer for production and assembly lines where a PLC, rather than a PC, needs to know which pallet, carrier or tray has reached a station. It operates at 13.56 MHz with ISO/IEC 15693 and ISO/IEC 14443A tags, inside a sealed 95 × 95 × 40 mm IP67 enclosure rated from –40 to +85 °C, so it can sit beside conveyors in food-processing, parts-assembly and other demanding line environments.
With a Ø30 mm industrial ISO 15693 tag, the reader is rated to read at up to 110 mm and write at up to 100 mm. With a blank ISO 14443A card, those figures are 60 mm and 50 mm. It also reports tag RSSI, which is useful when commissioning a station or checking that a carrier has stopped squarely over the antenna.
Network connectivity is what sets it apart from our RS485 read heads. A 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port carries Modbus TCP or plain TCP/UDP, while the RS232 and RS485 ports (9600–115200 bit/s) handle Modbus RTU. Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) is available as a build option, and cold sites can add an automatic heater that switches on at –5 °C.
Supply 9–24 V DC and size the power source for 3 W maximum draw and a start-up current of up to 1 A. Connections are made through an industrial pigtail cable that breaks out into five leads. Two digital inputs and two digital outputs are available for trigger sensors and signaling; request the I/O electrical ratings before wiring. An LED and buzzer show reader status, the firmware is upgradable, and an API kit with C, C# and Java sample programs is provided for host software.

Build an RFID asset tracking system: on-metal, ceramic and tie-on tags matched to each asset, handheld audits, smart cabinets and IP67 HF heads for tooling.
It speaks Modbus TCP and plain TCP/UDP over Ethernet and Modbus RTU over its RS232 and RS485 ports, so it fits PLCs and HMIs that support either Modbus variant. Custom host software can use the API kit instead.
Up to 110 mm read and 100 mm write on ISO 15693 with a Ø30 mm industrial tag, and 60 mm read and 50 mm write on ISO 14443A with a blank ISO card. Metal close to the antenna and smaller tags shorten these distances, so test with your own tag and bracket.
The housing is IP67 and rated for operation from –40 to +85 °C at 5–95% non-condensing humidity. An automatic heater that switches on at –5 °C can be fitted as an option when ordering.
9–24 V DC. Allow for 3 W maximum consumption and a start-up current of up to 1 A per reader.
No. Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) is a build option, ordered as IH-110-NET-WF. The standard IH-110-NET uses Ethernet, RS232 and RS485.
